Terms of Service

Your account

You need an account to use CorbelBooks. Keep your sign-in credentials private and tell us right away if you think someone else has used them. You are responsible for activity under your account, including team members and accountants you invite.

Your data

Your books belong to you. You grant us only the license needed to store, process, and display that data so the product can work, and to send the messages you configure to your clients. You can export your data at any time. How we handle it is described in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service for anything unlawful, including issuing fraudulent invoices or laundering funds;
• send reminders or messages to people who have not agreed to do business with you;
• attempt to access another account’s data, probe or overload the service, or interfere with other users;
• resell or white-label the service without our written consent.

Payments and third-party services

Card payments are processed by Stripe and bank connections by Plaid, each under their own terms. CorbelBooks is not a bank, a payment processor, or a money transmitter; funds move between you, your clients, and those providers. Any fees charged by those providers are separate from ours.

Not professional advice

CorbelBooks produces estimates — of cash flow, tax reserves, sales tax, and other figures — from the data you enter and the rules you configure. These are tools to help you run your business, not tax, legal, or accounting advice. Confirm filings and material decisions with a qualified professional.

Availability and changes

We work hard to keep the service available and to back up your data, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or retire features; if a change removes something you rely on, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

Termination

You can stop using CorbelBooks and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or create risk for other users, and we will explain why unless the law prevents it. On termination you may export your data during a reasonable wind-down period.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CorbelBooks is provided “as is,” and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or data, except where such liability cannot be excluded.
